PRESENT

followenglish – Coordinator of Studies and EFL teacher

May 2011 – present

  • Duties: this is my own company, so I basically take care of everything. I am responsible for planning, implementing and administering the language programs I provide. I specialize in the teaching of adult learners in various professional fields. So, most of my teaching involves customized one-to-one language coaching. I also have to update the company’s site and blog and I do oral and written assessments of job applicants as part of recruitment processes.

University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations – Oral Examiner

  • Duties: every six months I do the oral exams for the following exams: CAE, FCE, PET and KET.

PAST

CESUCA Idiomas (Faculdade Inedi) – EFL teacher

April 2007 – March 2013

  • Duties: I worked as an EFL teacher for all levels on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. I used moodle as a Virtual Learning Environment to keep my students engaged when they were not in class.

BLS Consultoria – Business Training Coordinator and EFL teacher

April 2007 – January 2012

  • Duties: I started as an EFL teacher giving in-company Business English training. In August 2009 I took over as a Business Training Coordinator. I was responsible for planning, implementing and administering Business English training programs and overseeing a group of instructors. Another duty was to interview job applicants and write reports about their performance. I was also in charge of applying the TOEIC in some of our clients.

  • Duties: I worked as an EFL teacher preparing students for FCE and teaching advanced levels.

  • Duties: I worked as an EFL teacher preparing a group of 8 students for FCE.

Cultura Inglesa – EFL teacher

July 1999 – January 2004

  • Duties: I worked as an EFL teacher teaching all levels both at the school and in-company. I started teaching business English and became more involved with Cambridge Exams. At Cultura I started using the Internet a lot more in my classes. I created my first pages to use with my ELT students back then (at the beginning of 2002).

  • Duties: I worked as an EFL teacher for small groups both at the school and in-company.

PUCRS (Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul) – Teaching Practicum – EFL teacher

September 1998 – December 1998

  • Duties: I worked as an EFL teacher at the Vila Fátima campus (60 hours).

  • Duties: I worked as an EFL teacher for all levels and was in charge of a conversation group. I also started preparing students for PET, FCE and CAE.

Instituto de idiomas Meridiano Zero – Academic coordinator and EFL teacher

September 1994 – July 1995

  • Duties: my first job as an EFL teacher! I started out as a teacher and after a couple of months I became the academic coordinator. So, besides preparing classes and teaching all levels, I was also in charge of training new teachers and chairing teachers’ meetings.
